  • Will Chelsea Qualify for the Champions League 2018-2019?

    Posted by on April 10th,2018View

Will Chelsea Qualify For The Champions League? Chelsea look like they may not qualify for the Champions League this time around, which is the next season, 2018-2019. The only way they can qualify is by finishing in the top-4 in the League or by winning the Champions League. Right now, that 4th position looks like the easier of the two. Chelsea has been in such a predicament before. In 2016, the club failed to qualify for the Champions League (2016-2017). But because Chelsea were playing only for the League, their commitments were limited and they managed to lift the League title. When Chelsea Won The Champions League In 2011-2012, Chelsea finished in 6th position, outside the Champions League places but still managed to win the Champions League and automatically qualify for the next season. Chelsea could see themselves in the same shoes again this season unless they win the remainder of their League games and hope for favorable results elsewhere. The last time Chelsea failed to qualify for the Champions League, apart from the 2016-2017 season, was all the way back in 2001-2002. Since then, Chelsea has qualified for the Champions League 15 seasons in a row. Fact: In the last 13 season of the Premier League, Chelsea has won it 5 times. Manchester United has won the League 5 times as well. City won twice with Leicester winning it once in 2016. Where To Put Your Money? The odds look like Chelsea may not qualify for the Champions League in 2018-2019. Should that happen, Hazard will most likely not sign a new contract and will look to leave to greener pastures (Real Madrid) or whoever else can afford the playmaker. Conte’s job will also depend on Chelsea qualifying for the Champions League.
